AI credits and usage
AI credits pay for everything Juls does — plans, captions, analyses, images and video. Your plan includes an allowance, and there's nothing to set up.
What are AI credits?
A credit is Julexis' unit for AI work: roughly 1,000 tokens processed by the AI models. Cheap, text actions use a few credits; analysing a website or generating an image uses far more. Every AI action uses at least one credit.
Do I need my own OpenAI API key?
No. Julexis manages AI access for you, server-side. You never create an account with an AI provider, paste an API key or pay a separate AI bill.
How many credits do I get?

Your allowance renews at the start of each billing period, in step with your subscription. Unused plan credits don't roll over.
Need more before then? Buy a top-up of 1,000, 3,000, 5,000 or 10,000 credits from Settings → Subscription. Top-up credits never expire and are used only after your plan's credits run out.

The figures marked "about" are estimates: the final charge follows what the AI actually used. Website and document analyses are charged only when they succeed.
Juls chat
Each reply in a chat with Juls is charged on how much Juls had to read and write, so a quick question costs less than a long draft. A plan Juls generates from the chat is charged like a plan from the Planner. The step-by-step guides in the help panel are free. See Meet Juls.
Why does document analysis have a limit?
Document analysis reads whole files — brand books, presentations, company profiles — with one of our most capable models. Each client can have two document analyses per billing period; website analysis has no such limit. See Personalize a client.
What happens when I run out?
When both your plan credits and any top-up credits are used up, AI features pause until your allowance renews. To carry on straight away, buy a top-up in Settings → Subscription. Everything that doesn't use AI — scheduling, editing by hand, the calendar, the inbox — keeps working.
How do I check my credits?
- The AI credits card in the sidebar shows your remaining balance at a glance.
- Settings → Subscription shows the detail: credits remaining, used this period, your total allowance and the share used, split between plan and top-up credits. A warning appears when you're running low.
